Mahindra XEV 9S to Get ‘Power Boss Mode’ Function; India Launch on 27 November
Mahindra is gearing up to launch the much-awaited XEV 9S, and ahead of its debut, the company has confirmed that the SUV will feature an all-new Power Boss Mode, a premium upgrade over the manual Boss Mode currently offered in the XUV700.
New Power Boss Feature for Second-Row Passenger
A new teaser reveals a switch panel placed near the second-row left-side seat, allowing the passenger to electronically adjust:
- Backrest angle
- Seat base position
This enables second-row passengers to move the front passenger seat forward or recline it further—offering a more chauffeur-driven experience.
The teaser also highlights:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Beige interior theme
- Front seat ventilation
These features position the XEV 9S as a premium three-row electric SUV.
🚘 Mahindra XEV 9S: Platform and Lineage
The XEV 9S is Mahindra’s first three-row born-electric SUV, built on the brand’s INGLO modular EV skateboard platform—shared with the BE.6 and XEV 9e.
Its evolution path:
- Started as XUV.e8
- Renamed to XEV 7e
- Final production name: XEV 9S
⚡ Expected Powertrains
The SUV is likely to borrow its electric powertrain options from the XEV 9e, which means buyers can expect:

- Fast-charging support
Actual specs will be confirmed at launch.
💰 Price & Market Positioning
The Mahindra XEV 9S is expected to be priced between ₹21 lakh and ₹30 lakh, placing it above the XEV 9e in Mahindra’s EV lineup.
